The author brings out a new protagonist in his latest novel. However few authors abuse their protagonists as badly as Mr. MacBride. The author gives DC MacGregor the equivalent of opening a full closet and everything lands on his head, with the bowling ball falling just as he thought it was over.Well developed characterization, good pace and the trademark creepy and hilarious narrative. Not quite as sarcastic as some of the earlier McCrae novels but still entertaining. Well worth it if you can stomach some of the well described mayhem.
