Orson Welles cobbles together a story out of five Shakespeare plays and portrays the center of attention, Falstaff. Must admit I lost interest in the story more than once and the low-budget techniques did not help e.g. the king's crown looks like it came from Burger King. However, I love what Orson Welles does with camera angles, characters, sound and light - all of which are masterfully on display here. The mid-flick battle scene is engrossing, dynamic and could hold its own against "Game of Thrones" or "Vikings." All in all, I'd say this is a good film for a dedicated classic movie or Shakespeare fan, and perhaps worth a pass otherwise.
