First of all, I want to say that this author does not write light summer read, in my opinion. I find a lot of tragedies in her stories, a lot of depressing characters and usually one violent scene. In this book we find the violent scene towards the very end of the book. The gruesome details were really not necessary. Also, you never get to know, aside from Margaret, how the other characters really feel. The story is really one dimensional. Although I find that Elin Hilderbrand has a beautiful writing style, I will not read anymore of her books. Too bad because she has so much potential.
