“...if a child waited to speak until all the grown-ups settled down and gave her some room to say her piece, the most important things would never get said.” As a child I always told people this was my favorite book. This is the story of Ida B., a young girl who is happy to be home-schooled and spends most of her time with her best friends, who happen to be the trees and the brook in her backyard. But when bad things begin to happen that turn her world upside-down, she concocts a plan to get everything back to perfect, just the way she remembers it. Hannigan has a charming writing style that kept me captivated and feeling like I was walking along with Ida B. through every step of her journey.
