When a powerful, decisive aristocrat undertakes a mission to protect an absent-minded young inventress from England’s enemies, he finds his orderly world turned into chaos. Merlin Lambourne’s stubborn dream of flight puts her at risk—and is driving Ransom crazy.

In spite of himself, he is oddly enchanted by this muddled miss and her eccentric ways . . . but can he overcome his own fears and realize her invention may be the answer to saving both of their lives?

A whimsical Regency-era tale of flying machines, fancy, and love among the hedgehogs.

Merlin's a really fun character once you just go with it, and she speaks true to herself, which I really appreciate. The book has fairly standard plot devices, but it didn't feel nearly as forced as other quick romance reads. I enjoyed that she was bookish and often lost in her head, and it was amusing to see how her enthusiasm spread to others. And yes, I found Ransom's predicament amusing.
