A great story told in alternating voices - one dealing with loss, the other with being different, both exploring what it means to have a dream and watch it die and then remake it.

Loved this book. Emmich absolutely nails the narration by a young adult with fantastic and hilarious insight/thoughts. An enjoyable, light read.

I really enjoyed this book, but was wanting a bit more at the end. It's an interesting subject to read about (almost perfect recall of events), and how it affects the person as well as those around them. I look forward to other books by this author.

"I want to believe that this music isn't about willfully ignoring the tragedies of life but bravely choosing optimism despite them." [Gavin, one of the main characters] This is a thought-provoking book with a memorable cast. I had never heard of Mr. Emmich before this book. Now I'll be watching for his next one.
