Too dark, except for older teenagers. It is mildly funny in a few places, but it is not an entertaining animation for kids or adults. Kids in or from foster homes might appreciate seeing something that deals with their experience, so worthy from that pov.

Sweet and real and lovely. It shows kids dealing with issues that even adult media shys away from. Yay for a good and well-meaning orphanage too. Yay for a three-dimensional "bully" and yay for showing happy and sad moments. A moving and sweet claymation film that felt more REAL than many live-action films.
I think it is okay for older children to view, especially if they have had to deal with hard issues in their lives. Actually, I think this film would really help children that have had to deal with grief and dysfunctional parents and other hard issues.
I watched the English-subtitled French version and the special features showed how they had non-actor children really playing out the scenes while recording--which explains a lot of the realism and sincerity felt throughout the film. Also, you can tell the creators really loved and cared for the film, story, and characters.

this is NOT a Kid's movie IMO. I think it addresses issues that some kids will find overwhelming.

Enjoyable animated movie from France, more for adults than children.

Enjoyed the movie, but some things I don't think are appropriate for children of a certain age

Ce film est super chouette, autant pour les enfants que pour les adultes. La quantité de travail pour réaliser cette animation est phénoménale. Le tout est très impressionant.

This film is both heartwarming and very sad. It is set in a group home for children who cannot live with their parents for varying reasons including death, abuse, murder, and deportation. It deals with difficult topics in a way that is accessible to children but still engaging for adults. I loved watching the children's friendships develop and their shared moments of joy. There is a "making of" in the bonus features that goes into how the animation and voices were created. Overall, a sweet film that I would recommend for people who like stop-animation and are looking to take on challenging topics and their subsequent feelings.

The stop motion animation is great. The story deals with grown-up themes like death, loss, bullies, adoption. But the plot still felt a bit too childish to appeal entirely to adults.
