When one of two boys kidnapped from their wealthy families resurfaces a decade later, the young survivor is observed by Myron Bolitar and his friend Win, who endeavor to discover the fate of the other missing boy.
I found most of the story boring and repetitive. Half was a rerun of Myron's family life which is repeated in all his stories. The only saving grace was a few snippets of Win, a more interesting character but not enough to carry the story.
I loved this book. It wasn't too intense but the storyline kept you reading until you finished it. I'm new to this author and I have really enjoyed the ones I've read.
I like reading books from this author. I believe maybe 1 or two got less than 3 stars but he is a good writer. I was happy to see all the characters in the book as well and how they all worked with each other. I was a little shocked on the ending but that is what I like about Harlan books, you think you got the answer and..pow... you are wrong.
I really like Coben's books - they're fast paced and well written with interesting characters. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I liked how it was written in both Win and Myron's perspectives. It's worth reading.
It has been 5 years since the last in the Myron Bolithar series and well worth the wait for No 11.. His highly resourceful friend Win actually asks for his help for a matter that it is very close to home and personal. Nothing is as it seems as the mystery unfolds. An absolute page turner.
When I first came across this author’s Myron Bolitar series, I enjoyed the combination of twisty thriller laced with humour. But as the series progressed, it became somewhat repetitious & the continuous pun-fest got old. “Live Wire” (book #10) was a major disappointment & I decided it was time for us to part ways for a while.
After several stand-alones, Myron is back in this much improved outing with a compelling story at its heart. Ten years ago, a pair of boys were abducted & never heard from again. Now Myron & Win get a hot tip on their whereabouts & manage to rescue one but there is no sign of the other boy who happens to be Win’s nephew. Finding him becomes a personal mission & our intrepid duo is aided by a cast familiar to fans of the series.
While the boys’ story drives the main plot line, the rest of the book deals with the personal lives of all the returning characters. In some ways, it almost feels like the author is saying a sentimental farewell to the series. By the end all loose threads have been tied up & you get a sense their stories have been told. Interactions between the characters are full of fond old memories, long significant looks & emotional confessions. It’s almost an homage to the series as a whole.
What kept me reading was the investigation into what really happened when the boys disappeared all those years ago. There are many twists along the way that have you constantly rethinking your theories & the truth is a heart breaking surprise. The sophomoric humour is kept to a minimum, allowing the mystery to take centre stage & it ends up being a fast paced & gripping read. But it will leave long time fans wondering if we’ve seen the last of this eccentric cast of characters.

The story kept me riveted from page one to the end. Great twists and turns here and there.
I would like to get large print books

Another very good Coben book. Much humor, good story line and easy read.
Would recommend.

A good read, but didn't enjoy it as much as other books by him.
