Patrick is rescued by Myron and is told that Rhys is dead. Really it was a set up that Patrick really shot Rhys when he was 6 yrs. old. Francesca, the sister picks up the gun her father threatened her mother, Nancy with. Patrick finds it and takes it to the woods and accidentally kills Rhys. They try to hide the crime. They are supposedly kidnapped, but Patrick is just sent away to live in Europe. They change his name, etc. When he is rescued Myron follows him when he meets up with his girlfriend. He finds out the history. Patrick tries to commit suicide. Nancy runs to him and pleads to stop. Brooke, Rhys mother comes in and says Rhys would not want him to do this. Patrick relents and walks away with Mom. Later, Myron wonders where the gun is. During the wedding, Win tells the story that Nancy has suddenly disappeared. But, come to find out Brooke shoots Nancy to pay for the crime, never to be found. Francesca, Patrick's sister is still friends with Chick, Rhys' older brother. Clark, Brooke's husband is o.k. Hunter, Nancy's husband survives being show, divorced because of the pressure. Vanna the Nanny returns from Europe to confess to the crime. Nancy paid for the anguish that everyone endured because of he decision to hide the crime ( accident).

I found most of the story boring and repetitive. Half was a rerun of Myron's family life which is repeated in all his stories. The only saving grace was a few snippets of Win, a more interesting character but not enough to carry the story.

The story kept me riveted from page one to the end. Great twists and turns here and there.

I loved this book. It wasn't too intense but the storyline kept you reading until you finished it. I'm new to this author and I have really enjoyed the ones I've read.

I like reading books from this author. I believe maybe 1 or two got less than 3 stars but he is a good writer. I was happy to see all the characters in the book as well and how they all worked with each other. I was a little shocked on the ending but that is what I like about Harlan books, you think you got the answer and..pow... you are wrong.

Another very good Coben book. Much humor, good story line and easy read.
Would recommend.

I really like Coben's books - they're fast paced and well written with interesting characters. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I liked how it was written in both Win and Myron's perspectives. It's worth reading.

It has been 5 years since the last in the Myron Bolithar series and well worth the wait for No 11.. His highly resourceful friend Win actually asks for his help for a matter that it is very close to home and personal. Nothing is as it seems as the mystery unfolds. An absolute page turner.
