I like this movie very intense exactly like I wanted to see.

I agree with other posts here - why is the library buying this stuff? Is it educational? If you are planning a career as a cannibal....which is a dying occupations (no pun intended). They should spend the money on Great Courses material instead. That is educational.

Nice jungle scenery shots. But a silly, gory mess of a story. A waste of time.

DISTURBINGLY VIOLENT! The OPL's vague description above sounded intriguing but did nothing to prepare me for the excessive gore. Eyeballs gouged and eaten, decapitations, extended scenes full of blood and body parts being eaten.... Even fast-forwarding through much of the violence didn't prevent the stomach turning! Why OPL has this torture porn in its collection is beyond me! At very least, a warning of severe graphic content should be clearly in the description!!

This is another cannibal film. I guess it was the year for cannibal films. A rich young white girl is tricked into a joining an environmental activist group by a handsome foreigner. He takes her and the other kids they recruit to the Amazon rainforest where they chain themselves to trees to stop loggers. It's then that the girl realizes she was chosen because her father is a lawyer for the UN. The handsome guy, Alejandro, videotapes the standoff and uploads it to YouTube, silently hoping the loggers will actually shoot the girl, Justine. She is furious on the ride home, but their plane crashes in cannibal territory. Even Alejandro is not prepared for cannibals. The film is extremely graphic for the last half of the film. I was sick. The ending was not worth watching the rest, I guarantee you.

As another suggested and as I expected going into it, a typical gory Eli Roth ("Hostel") production, with his bride, Lorenza Izzo, cast as the protagonist. I found the native people more interesting than anything else.

Skip it. Unless you are the deviant type who gets off on animalistic violence and evil savage acts.

If you enjoy this dreck, you probably could use some help from a psycho-analyst.

I went into this one expecting to be disappointed, and i was not disappointed...somewhat. Eli Roth's latest gore fest is thankfully less visceral than his "Hostel" franchise but still sufficient enough to satisfy those looking for a shocking experience. The ending is the part where Roth came through: (by disappointing) he managed to push his eco drivel message through despite seemingly mocking it from the very start. The characters in this movie are bland and unlikeable; it gets to the point where you start to cheer for the cannibals because you hate the tree hugging morons that much. As i said earlier the ending was a severe disappointment and made no sense whatsoever. Eli Roth should be dropped in the middle of the Amazon so he can be invited to a cannibal cookout for wasting my time with this schlock.

Typical Eli Roth film, so expectations were low to begin with. Acting was worse than expected, glad I got it for free as opposed to RedBox or the actual theater.

Should have known better with Eli Roth produced and directed vehicle, of course. Every imaginable icky way of killing someone is explored, including cannibalism, vivisection, eyeball stabbing, arrow through the neck, just to name a few. If I've spoiled this for you by giving the plot away, you can thank me for helping you avoid this sick excuse for an action film.
