Picnic in Provence (April 2015) by Elizabeth Bard, author of Lunch in Paris
Picnic in Provence is a memoir style foodie book by American journalist, Elizabeth Bard. Full of French charm, the book follows the journey of Elizabeth and her French husband as they expect their first child and move from their urban life in Paris to the quaint village Céreste in Provence. Incorporating French cuisine and the local ingredients of Provence into their lives as new parents and new homeowners, Bard then includes the mouth-watering recipes at the end of each chapter.
I really enjoyed Bard’s first memoir, “Lunch in Paris”, so I decided to read this follow up. I’m glad that I did. This title is still full of yummy food and a beautiful setting, but it's also about choosing to chase your dreams instead of settling for financial security at the expense of your happiness. An inspiring read!
