This looks like a dry read as there are no colours and a whole lot of text inside. I only read about the first chapter, but I might read more in the future. I already know some CBT, and I don't know if I need this book because I don't think I have a lot of the unhelpful ways of thinking anymore.
Any opportunity to employ self care - in addition to prescriptive and therapeutic - is a welcome addition. Dr. Burns puts in simple, easy to understand terms concepts and methods for augmenting and enhancing self care that anyone who is challenged by depression, anxiety, and similar overwhelming mood conditions would be well served to read.
This was and is still revolutionary. People will benefit from this.
I am going to buy a coppie. This is one book I want to have available to read and use as needed.
It can be REAL help for anyone!!!
Should be mandatory reading by the age of 16. I wish I would have learned the techniques in this book decades ago. The mind is very powerful and we all have it within us to alter how we think.
This book is a little bible for cognitive therapy, a must read for patients and therapists as well.
