As you move through the DVD, the dance sequences get more complex and challenging. Each sequence is broken down into a tutorial, a really slow, moderately slow and fast version of the dance .. where the segments are about 2-3 minutes a piece. You do actually get a work out but if you actually want to follow along with the moves, you may have to play the tutorial or slow parts several times. I also found it hilarious that to add the "hip hop" aspect you just were required to bounce a bit more....
