This album was revolutionary, and all reviews of it have to keep that in mind. For the first few minutes, all these songs sound like pure genius. But would it kill these guys to have at least ONE song that doesn't overstay its welcome with self-indulgent techno jams? My advice: Play this album at a party instead of listening to it all on its own. It is, after all, technically dance music.
I really grew to enjoy this album (even though electronica isn't my favorite thing), and LCD in general. James Murphy and Co. play cool, danceable, rock-tronica. The group definitely have a taste for New Order and other '80s era dark and dance-y music.
