This started out strong with some very interesting look at situations where advantages and disadvantages appeared to be obvious but actually is the opposite. I started to lose interest towards the last third portion of the book and can’t even recall what it was about. It could be a reader (listener in this case of audiobook) and not an author or topic problem. This started out strong with some very interesting look at situations where advantages and disadvantages appeared to be obvious but actually is the opposite. Ms. Davis provides a very candid memoir of her childhood living in property and the struggle to get where she is today. As someone who experienced childhood poverty and lived in an unstable violent household, this book bring to front why we feel the shame of our situation when we didn’t have any control of it. Some parts are very emotional but overall, I really enjoyed the book. I listened to the audiobook because Ms. Davis’s voice is very soothing even when she talks about difficult topics.Ms. Davis provides a very candid memoir of her childhood living in property and the struggle to get where she is today. - Some good advice that can be implemented but some are just common sense. Since Dr. King is a comedian, it’s a fast read with some good humor. I got some good tips out of this book.

This is my first book by this author so I’m not sure if the way the book is set up is the same as his other books but it’s interesting. It’s different than what I’m used to. There are some humor and silly things but at times, it’s slow to get through. There are some good elements and heart warming things. This book is very slow. Some elements were added to keep the suspense but has no purpose or explanation. It is a little too long and some things could’ve been cut out. The relationship between the characters seem forced, superficial or one-sided. Not one that kept my interest. This book is very slow. Nine lives so there’s at least 9 characters you have to keep track of then there’s the people that they interact with in each of their lives so a lot of characters to follow. The story is okay but I’m not sure I like how things were wrapped up at the end. I finished reading this book in just four days. It’s very fast paced. I probably shouldn’t read it at night before bedtime because it got my heart racing and hard to fall asleep.
The ending isn’t what I expected. There are a few different ways that the bill could end that would be shocking.

There’s a lot going on in this book. More than the usual local town issues. This Ian set in multiple countries with the involvement of different agencies. It’s quite a ride abs Reacher did get a couple things wrong in his assumptions. This book also makes me wonder if people really do a full blown explanation before they get into a street fight or a fun fight. Hmmm….There’s a lot going on in this book. This book took forever to get through. Not because it was scary, it was somewhat boring and slow. There’s a story inside a story that alternate the chapters. Maybe I just dislike first person perspectives because at some point I was tired of the main character yapping on and on about how hard her life is and how she has a love/hate relationship with her dad. Trying too hard for twists that some things didn’t even make sense. This book took forever to get through. Not because it was scary, it was somewhat boring and slow. This book keeps you reading and is a slow buildup. I seem to figure out the killer 20% into the book. The ending happen fast and the wrap up of everything seems to be rushed. Like everything was supposed to wrap up but there’s still a few plot holes and some things didn’t add up. I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It’s sort of slow but sort of not. There’s a lot of current and flashbacks. There’s a lot of dates like two weekend before (event) or 6 years before (event), etc. type of things going on so it feels like you need a notebook just to track all that. One thing I like about this book is it includes a little bit of the struggle of mental health and how one doesn’t have control of it. What others perceived and expect from people dealing with mental challenges. I feel bad for one character and one other character is decent, the rest are just terrible.I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It’s sort of slow but sort of not. This is a really fast read like most JR books. I'm not sure if I enjoy this one as much as the others. Some things seem unread (yes, I know it's fiction) but the ending seems rushed. There were some things that doesn't really add up but I couldn't really put my finger on it. Definitely not as good as the other books. This is a really fast read like most JR books. This book is so creepy especially with some uncomfortable scenes between male and female characters. It like a big mind game for the main character. I enjoyed it and the story build up slowly. Recommend it if you’re into dark thrillers.

This book makes me cringe with all the things that one can experience at a high school. Being a parent of teenagers makes me worry. Although the book is fiction, I’m sure things that happened in the book could easily happen in real life. It really deals with a lot of challenges that teenagers faced. That said, I’m not sure I like the story. It could be I’m not a teen so at times I feel like the Hannah was ranting on. The flipping between Hannah and Clay’s perspectives also get me mixed up because the only difference is the italicized texts. They both sometimes start with “I” and then I had to refocus on the text to see who’s perspective I’m reading. If you’re into the book, sometimes you can ignore the formatting of the texts so that’s what happened with me. Towards about 30% left of the book, I started to lose interest and just finish the book so I can return it. Not my cup of tea but it could be I’m not the right audience for the book. This book makes me cringe with all the things that one can experience at a high school. This book is so beautifully written. It has mystery, a love story, survival, coming of age, and nature all combined. It’s heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I cried at the end from all the emotions that I held back while reading the book so that others didn’t think I’m weird but the end was too much for me. It was so beautiful. I’m a city girl and never was into nature type of books but this book brought nature to me in a different way. It’s so serene and I can start to understand why Kya, the main character loves it so much. The writing is just the right pace to allow you to capture the scenery but fast enough so that you don’t get too bored (I’m normally a thriller reader so I can’t stand slow paced books). I highly recommend this. There’s a movie coming out but I like this book so much that I’m torn between wanting to watch the movie for the scenery and afraid it will disappoint me in not creating all the feelings I have when reading the book. This book is so beautifully written. This book is a page turner and really got me out of a reading slump. It’s told from the perspective of three main characters and two different timelines. It’s entertaining but creepy at the same time. I made the mistake of reading it before bed and didn’t sleep well (it probably won’t help with your sleep if you have anxiety problems like me). It’s not that it has any scary in it. It’s more of the human nature in the story that get under my skin. If you like dark creepy thrillers, this is for you. I just couldn’t get into this book. I stopped and start many times. 1/3 of the way through, I switched to audiobook and listen to it while cleaning the house. It didn’t get any better. The pace is very slow. If it’s not for audiobook, I wouldn’t have finished. I didn’t enjoy the story or the writing either.
